Access

Tomakomai Experimental Forest is located north of Tomakomai city and south of Sapporo city in Hokkaido, Japan.  Tomakomai can be reached with an hour by train from Sapporo and Chitose International Airport and is a major port for several ferry lines. From Tomakomai station to the forest it is about 6 km.  Public traffic is available within Tomakomai city but will not bring you into the forest, a taxi might be a good alternative or consult the google map below if you like to walk.
